Documentary films

Inside complicated work, there is always someone who cares enormously.

We make documentary films that find them — and make the rest of us care too. Twenty years of it, kept deliberately small and scaled up only when a film asks for it.

See the work Start a conversation

A manufacturer whose components are too small to notice and too precise to fake. A lender whose loans are each modest and collectively transformative. An association where a school, a farm, a creamery and a store keep making one another possible.

Each is genuinely hard to summarise. Each is also full of people who can tell you exactly why it matters — beautifully, and at length — if somebody takes the time to ask. That asking is the whole job.

What we make

Brand documentaryFrom $11,000

A single anchor film, three to eight minutes, about what you do and why it matters to the people who do it. Lives on your homepage, opens your events, anchors a campaign. Four to six weeks from kickoff to delivery.

Campaign seriesFrom $16,000

Several short pieces sharing one visual language, released across a season or a fiscal year. Useful when the whole of what you do is easier to feel than to summarise — one subject at a time, until the shape of it appears. This is what we built for Gore in Cecil County.

Founder storyFrom $7,500

A portrait of the person behind the work — how they think, why they started, and what they are still trying to get right. Recruiting, advancement, launches, board communications, succession.

Internal brand alignmentFrom $9,000

Films made for the people inside the organisation. When the work is spread across many parts, this is how each part gets to see what the others are carrying. Onboarding, all-hands, post-merger, and making a strategy feel like something worth doing.

Need films all year rather than once? A standing film programme.

How a film gets made

Conversation

What you do, who needs to understand it, and what you wish they already knew. No charge.

Scope and estimate

A written treatment and a fixed number. You approve before anything moves.

Time on site

We come and learn the work before we film it. This is the part most crews skip, and it is the part that makes the difference.

Filming

Usually one to three days, with the smallest crew the film can be made well with. Small footprint, calm rooms, and people who forget the camera is running.

Edit

First cut, two rounds of revision, final delivery in every format you need.
